After what feels like MONTHS of gloomy weather, I’m SO ready for some sunshine and warmth!
The month of March brings us St Patrick’s Day (March 17th) which is about much more than green beer and shamrocks; it is the celebration of Ireland’s foremost saint (who, incidentally, was said to have used the shamrock to teach about the Christian belief of the Trinity).
Green: The Color of Renewal
The color green is associated with new life, growth, nature, energy, freshness, and rebirth. This makes it the perfect color choice to add vibrance and life to your home.
Touches of this fresh color work well against warm woods, soft neutrals, and cool metallics equally well.
A Fresh Take on a Spring Tablescape
I love using a mix of organic colors and textures in my tablescapes.
Here, the clean lines of the white ceramic dinnerware are softened by round woven seagrass placemats found at HomeGoods. Natural linen napkins are simply folded and anchored under the soup bowls.
The three cement-potted faux succulents were found at Target and provide just the right touch of life to the table. Ivory pillar candles rest in curvy little dip bowls to complete this simple centerpiece.
These woven wicker chairs were Craigslist finds. A fresh coat of white paint brought them back to life. They now add just the right amount of lightness and texture for this casual dining space.
In the corner, a fiddle leaf fig tree planted in a large basket provides a graphic pop of vibrance. The compact shape fills the empty spot perfectly without overwhelming the whole space.
The difference between an ordinary room and a truly beautiful space often comes down to the small details.
Pay attention to the colors, shapes, and textures that bring you joy… then use them with balance and intention to create a space that you truly love!
